East Garfield Park is filled with great kids! Once again, we would like to formally and publicly recognize the hard work, achievements, and strength of character of some of the fine young members of our community. Please join us in acknowledging and celebrating the greatness in our youth by nominating a young person for an EGP Community Youth Award!
ELIGIBILITY
•
Nominees must be involved in the East Garfield Park neighborhood. This includes living in EGP, attending school in EGP, and/or being actively involved with a community organization (after school program, park district, extracurricular program/club) or church in EGP.
•
Nominees must fall within one of two grade classifications: either grades 6-8 or grades 9-12 for the 2019/20 school year.
•
Nominations will be received from staff and volunteers from EGP schools, churches, and community organizations/groups.
AWARD CATEGORIES
•
Academics (school based academic performance)
•
Performing Arts (music, drama, dance, spoken word, etc)
•
Visual Arts (painting, sculpting, graphic art, etc)
•
Community Service/Citizenship (volunteerism)
•
Sports (sport performance at school, club, or community level)
•
Peer Leadership (leadership among their peers such as club, project, church leadership)
Award winners will be selected in each category from each grade range (6-8 and 9-12).
