Breakthrough Beginners, Breakthrough’s early childhood education program, has achieved Gold Level recognition for improving the policies and practices around nutrition, physical activity and screen time in our center as part of Healthy Way to Grow, a joint program of the American Heart Association and Nemours. Breakthrough is the only preschool center in Chicago to reach Gold Level.
Breakthrough is working to improve the health of all East Garfield Park residents, from preschool students to seniors receiving food at the Fresh
Market. It’s important to us that children understand and maintain healthy lifestyles as they grow into adults. The Beginners staff worked hard to apply for the prestigious award and are thrilled with the recognition!
